![]() Our time with Eatcake was enjoyable but more importantly they spent time working us out and asking the right questions.įor us the results – website and associated design work, is perfect. Key to us was finally getting an online identity that matched what we were really about – somehow making it entirely authentic and getting away from a website that is what we think people should see. We had 2 beauty parades, with a range of options, from a website from £90,000+ through to £2,500 (and although highly recommended they did not want to meet!) Given the huge number of potential suppliers, this might be an easy process? Not in our case. " Like lots of these things, we rue the time it took to get a recommendation to speak to Eatcake! We have a fast growing company and also recognised that it was a fast changing world so we wanted someone good to help us design a new website and help with a brand/image refresh. We used the identity to inform the interior design of their refitted office space. They asked Eatcake Design to update their corporate identity and refresh and reorganise their website. Louise Minchin, Brandon Trust, Shops Locality ManagerĮdward Drummond are a recruitment and headhunting agency that operates globally. I also felt that Jon had a connection to what we were doing as an organisation which also made a difference to the way we worked.Įatcake have also helped us to create leaflets, branding and wall art for our shops, all of which have been exactly what we've asked for and I would absolutely recommend them to other organisations – thanks guys!" ![]() He was also a great support to me, working on a project of this scale for the first time I needed all the guidance I could get, and I really felt listened to when we had to compromise design and practicality. Jon respected my expertise and I felt confident in his and we came to some great solutions. I loved working with Jon because his vision of what the shop could be was so similar to my own, we even had similar mood boards at our first meeting, and I knew we would create something exciting together! We get complimented on the quality of our stock and the way in which it is presented in the surroundings we have created on a daily basis, and that all started with this shop!įrom our exposed fixtures and stripped back feature wall, industrial fittings and retro lighting, and our signature 'Big B' light box, the shop is full of themes and touches that we have kept running through our subsequent shops and continue to make us stand out from the crowd. ![]() Together I think we have shown the good people of Bristol that donated goods can be displayed in an interesting and modern way, and there's nothing to stop us being just as on trend and innovative as other high street retailers. They helped us to set the tone and style of our pilot store, with contemporary twists and ideas that challenged what people expected of us as a charity. "Eatcake were involved with the design of our first shop which opened on Cotham Hill in 2015. Brandon Trust wanted to enter this competitive market and asked Eatcake Design to help them apply their branding effectively.Ĭollaborating with a superb and creative retail team, we raised the bar for the shopping experience in the charity sector. The charity shops of Gloucester Road and Cotham Hill in Bristol are some of the best and busiest in the country. Viki Browne, Artistic Director, Many MindsĮatcake Design worked with longstanding client Brandon Trust to develop a distinctive theme for their new shops. ![]() They were able to turn our energy and excitement into a logo that felt like it really communicated what we are about." One in particular stood out for us, It was perfect. They came back to us with multiple options, all of which felt really in keeping with our brand. As a new charity this could have been difficult to articulate but we were made to feel welcome and relaxed as we were invited to share with them what excited us about the work we do. They listened to what we wanted and asked questions so that they were able to get a feel of what we did, what we needed from the logo and who it was for. A safe structure in which an element of chaos and anarchy can be expressed. The logo demonstrates that the charity operates in a grassroots, non-hierarchical and collaborative way and the work is often full of play and experimentation. Many Minds use performance as a way for people experiencing mental ill health to improve confidence, self esteem and social networks in a creative environment. New Bristol charity Many Minds asked us to design them a logo. ![]()
